I haven't posted on here in a very long time, but there's a lot going on in my life right now that I need to vent about.
( So here goes... )
Summer is just weeks away and with all the extra time I will have (especially on plane trips to New York, Cancun, New York again, and then back home), I need some good books to read. Since I will already be reading Crime and Punishment for AP Literature and Beowulf and Grendel for Hart's summer reading group, I need some good, fast, summer reads. And by good and fast I don't mean Gossip Girl-esque. I mean less like War and Peace and more like Huckleberry Finn. So any suggestions?
Basically, within a two week span this summer, I will be flying across the country about four times! Awesome!
With airplane rides tedious enough as it is, doing my AP Literature homework isn't really an option.
Obviously, I really need books to read.
I was ravaged by spiders last night. Did anyone else wake up covered in bug bites?
Last Friday I visited Cal Poly with Tara, and even though I really loved the school itself, I don't think it's the best place for me. I need to go to a more liberal arts focused school, as I will definitely not be an engineering major. But I had a really nice time driving up there with my parents, and the tour was more enjoyable than expected. On Saturday I just sat around the computer researching the best schools for journalism. I ended up finding out that I shouldn't major in journalism, but another more broad interest so that I am a well read and informed writer. Employers want to see me becoming an expert in a particular field while I gain experience at an actual newspaper or something. I always thought you were just supposed to minor in what you want to write about, but apparantly I was wrong. I guess I might be majoring in film or political science now. Oh boy. I've also decided that none of the CSUs that supposedly have good journalism programs interest me. They are all commuter schools. Bleh. And 200 people classes at UCs are not an option for me. So that leaves private schools, but I am poor. I shouldn't be in more debt than I will ever make as a journalist. SO I AM CONFUSED.
On another note, I NEED SOMETHING TO DO. Let's get out of our houses and enjoy the weather, eh?
